Students study four topics from the later modern course:
Ireland
Sovereignty and Partition 1912-49
Politics and Society in Northern Ireland 1949-93
Europe and the Wider World:
Dictatorship and Democracy 1920-45 (Documents based question)
United States and the World 1945-89
Each topic is worth 100 marks or 20% of the overall mark with the final 20% being awarded for the Research study report.
For the RSR students can engage in self directed learning in a topic of their choice which must be historically significant.
For Ireland the topic must be prior to 1993 and Europe must be prior to 1992.
