LCVP Ball Drop 2019
An Event Of Un-ball-ievable Proportions
The LCVP Ball Drop was held this past Wednesday, April 10th, and was a great success!
Organised by the 5th Year LCVP Class, the Ball Drop event was held to raise money for the repayment of school facilities and for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, a charity that is near and dear to our hearts. Each student in the school was given a Sponsorship Card prepared by the LCVP Class, and was sent on a mission to sell all their lines – and maybe more! The buyer of each line was then assigned a ball and entered into the raffle!
Prizes
You can’t have a raffle without prizes! This year, the LCVP Class got to work and we had a whopping 35 prizes to be won – the most we have had yet! The top prize was a brand new 2018 iPad, provided graciously by Dara Vince and his family. But that wasn’t all – and far from it – as we had many other prizes, such as:
- €100 OneForAll Voucher
- Personal Training Session courtesy of Ben Dunne Gyms
- 5 €20 vouchers for the St. Jude’s GAA shop
- Many Easter Eggs
…and much, much more! It was truly a great event to get entered in.
About the Charity
The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust is a charity that helps bereaved families in need to alleviate them of the financial hardship of repatriating the bodies of loved ones who have sadly passed away abroad due to sudden and tragic circumstances back to Ireland.
This charity has helped the family of a past pupil, Davey O’Beirne, who sadly passed away while on a trip to America in the summer of 2018. With the help of the Kevin Bell Trust, his body was brought home for his funeral.
As many teachers, past pupils and siblings of past pupils knew Davey, we decided that the school needed to give back after all they did for him, and thus a large portion of the money raised will be sent to the Kevin Bell Trust.
