Student Website Team

The use of this website by parents and students has increased significantly over the last year and there has been a growing demand for new content and updates. With this in mind the decision was taken to form a Student Website Team who would have the the general task of improving the website for all users including students, parents and teachers. After completing the application process we are now in a position to congratulate the following students who have been selected to join the Student Website Team;

Moss Grace Byrne, Kate Foley, Ciara Rochford, Aimee McGrane, Preslava Vassileva, Christopher Thomas, Paddy Johansson, Daniel Guerin, Laura Burnett, Scott O’Kelly, Daniel Bourke, Lana Fitzgerald & David Perry.

These students will be having their first Team meeting this Friday and we look forward to seeing some of their work on the website over the coming weeks.

Geography Rocks

The Geography Rocks Club is one of the longest running and most succesful extra curricular groups in the school. They are heading off for their annual trip this Friday at 8am. This year they are visiting the Burren in Co Clare and while there will also be visiting the Cliffs of Moher and the Alliwee Caves. Enjoy the trip.

Each student has recieved tickets to sell and these tickets must be returned by next Tuesday. Best wishes to the 5th Year LCVP Group who have done a great job organising this event so far.

Hurling

The Under 14 Hurlers had a great win against Salesians, Celbridge last Friday. They now face into their last group game next week with a chance of making the Championship Final.

Girls Gaelic Football

Hard luck to the Girls Gaelic Footballers who narrowly lost their first game of the season to St Raphaela’s. This team is particularly young and consists mainly of first year girls who were playing their first game for the school and they should be commended for the fantastic attitude they showed throughout. Hard luck girls and keep up the great effort.

Gaelic Football

Congratulations to the Under 16 Boys Gaelic Football team who had an excellent victory over Clonkeen College last Friday to qualify for the the Dublin “C” Championship Final.

The team is a mix of players who play for local clubs such as St Judes and St Mary’s but also included 8 players in the starting team who don’t play Gaelic Football outside of school at all. It is a remarkable achievement to get to a final in this context and is a credit to the hard work of the players involved.

The final will likely be in two weeks time and we hope to have full details of the fixture on the website asap.

The First Year Boys Football team will begin their competition next week after a significant delay to the start of the competition. The team will have training next Tuesday after school and new players are welcome.
